Back to School Challenge: Because What’s School Without Cheating?

BtSbutton1When one of my favorite blogs hosts a challenge, who am I to say no?  Especially when I discover that I can totally cheat.

Kari et al., from the Five Boroughs Book Review (anybody else notice that they ought to change their name to Kari and Salvatore’s Book Review?) is hosting the Back to School Challenge for those of us who are total nerds and miss school.

Get a recommended reading list for students and pick 4 books to read between today and Dec. 31st.  Kari has helpfully linked to four such lists.

Kari herself doesn’t condone cheating, that I know of, but I certainly do.

Which is why I’ll be reading:

1. All the Kings Men by Robert Penn Warren
2. Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen
3. The Trial by Franz Kafka
4.  Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe

I’m reading All the King’s Men for the Banned Book Challenge, and P&P for the Everything Austen Challenge.  I’m already listening to The Trial on CD.  I don’t know if Amy is still taking second readers for Taking On Newsweek, but that’s what I signed up for if she is.

Can we have a Homecoming Dance so I can buy a new dress, too?

What a cool challenge! It sounds like a good one to do the lazy way too, through movies! :–)

This is such a great idea for a challenge … so many of those lists are filled with books I haven’t read (I think shamefully). I’ll have to look into this one (but at the rate I’m going, I’m barely going to finish the challenges I already signed up for.)
