I recently tried to start "Turn of the Screw" (it's available online), but all of the commas in the first sentence made me start laughing. I'm not sure I can stick with such long, drawn out sentences. LOL

Nothing to do with the novella but I also visited a second hand book shop (only the second one I have discovered so far in Colombo) and bought nine books. I have always to go back to the classics and went for those including two Shakespeare's. So I have a pile of books awaiting me. I was also very lucky yesterday. A niece of
mine gave me a Vikram Seth and a James Patterson. Brand new. She said she found both heavy going but me I am ready for anything.
