Will somebody please tell me what the Hell this is supposed to be on the cover of this book?  I get that it&#8217;s supposed to be gold leaf and lapis or whatever, but what is it a picture of?  

I hoped that that by the end the book, they&#8217;d talk about the weird abstract snake [...]
