Read-A-Thon: Post #3
I am so smart! I combined two mini-challenges into one!
We’ve been challenged to A. write a drabble, and B. write about our reading inspirations and influences:
I struggled learning to read as a kid. My school district went from using phonics to the “whole language” approach when I was in first grade. Luckily for me, my Mom had just finished her master’s in special education, and she taught me to read. But more importantly, she bribed me. She promised me a cat if I read every day during the summer after second grade. Not long into the summer, I started on the American Girl series, and I’ve been an avid reader, and doll collect, ever since. My niece takes good care of my dolls for me.
See the picture there? That’s another one of my nieces, Anabelle, age 3, carrying on the tradition with her bitty baby, whose name, I believe, is BeBe (Mary Olivia named hers “Coo-Chi-Coo when she was still at that doll stage).
Happy reading!

Your niece is absolutely adorable! Good luck with the rest of your reading!
Adorable!
Looks like you are making great headway
Keep up the reading, don’t let that head sway
Eyes on the page and coffee in hand
You’ll be entering a new land.
