Read-A-Thon: Post #2

cream puffI have good luck when it comes to Nicole’s Feed Me Seymore mini-challenge, which asks us to find a passage about food in our reading.  Last read-a-thon I had donuts.  This time it’s cream puffs.

From The Wednesday Wars:

There was only the delicious, extravagant, warm, tasty scent of buttery baking crust, and of vanilla cream, and of powdered sugar, still drifting in the heated air.  And stretched out on the long tables, far from Whatever Surprise was being fed to Camillo Junior High for the lunch that day, were a dozen trays of cream puffs–brown, light, perfect cream puffs.

Good thing I just took a break to eat breakfast because just typing that makes me hungry!

Meanwhile, Bart asked us to create a sentence from our reading lists.  Since wordpress is sucking and won’t let me upload pictures from my photo album, you get no pictures, just my sentence:

Elynia, The Namesake, Dreams of Sex and and Stage Diving.

Finally, Bobbie asked us to choose a song that would be perfect for the soundtrack for one of our reading picks.

I’m kind of cheating here because I’m going w/ The Twelfth Night, which I have on DVD for when I get really tired in about 18 hours.  But the song I’d pick is “Boys and Girls” by Blur, which includes the chorus:

Girls Who Are Boys
Who Like Boys To Be Girls
Who Do Boys Like They’re Girls
Who Do Girls Like They’re Boys
Always Should Be Someone You Really Love

But while we’re at it, I’d also include “Somebody Told Me” by The Killers, which includes the chorus lyrics:

Well somebody told me
You had a boyfriend
Who looks like a girlfriend
That I had in February of last year
It’s not confidential
I’ve got potential
A rushin’, a rushin’ around
