Awards: Some Pertaining to BBAW, Some Not

hearts-flowers-blog-awardI was lucky enough to receive a few awards lately, and wanted to take the time to pass them on to some bloggers I love.

First up, J. Kaye gave me an award of her own creation, the Hearts and Flowers Blog Award.  This award is all about love and community in the blogosphere.  She says:

I think it would be a great idea to throw some more love into the blogosphere. A good way to do this is by passing along awards. Some bloggers don’t, feeling they’ll leave someone out and thus, hurting their feelings. I totally understand, but don’t feel the same. I’ve seen the reaction awards have, especially new book bloggers. It causes a ripple effect. This effect has got to be the coolest phenomenon found in book blogging world.

I agree with J. Kaye.  I love getting awards and I love passing them on.  I am going to pass this award on to five blogs:

1. Stephanie at Stephanie’s Written Word, who had her last surgery (yay!) recently and then got right back to blogging and working on the Everything Austen Challenge.
2. Amy of My Friend Amy, who is the queen of community building and working so hard on BBAW.  I know that a lot of other people have been working hard on it, too, but I’m not sure who they are, so I figure that when she finally has time, Amy can pass this on to whomever she pleases.
3. Simon Savidge of Savidge Reads, who will hopefully share this award with his Gran.  Simon always takes the time to comment on everyone’s posts.
4. Cecilia from The Epic Rat, who is hosting a great new meme (and featured yours truly) for new book bloggers in the hopes that more people will discover new blogs.
5. Jackie at Farmlane Books who often has helpful posts, for example the one all about plugins, and posts links from around the blogosphere.

And now to get a little less sappy….

The Zombie Chicken Award! 2094170

Two wonderful bloggers gave me the Zombie Chicken Award, Michelle from The Biblioaddict, and Terri of BrownGirl BookSpeak.

A little about the Zombie Chicken Award:

The blogger who receives this award believes in the Tao of the zombie chicken – excellence, grace and persistence in all situations, even in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. These amazing bloggers regularly produce content so remarkable that their readers would brave a raving pack of zombie chickens just to be able to read their inspiring words. As a recipient of this world-renowned award, you now have the task of passing it on to at least 5 other worthy bloggers. Do not risk the wrath of the zombie chickens by choosing unwisely or not choosing at all.

Keeping that, and the utter coolness of this award (I admit, I’ve kinda been wanting it) in mind, I’m passing it along to:

1. Avisannschild of She Reads and Reads…I don’t know how she finds all of those similar book covers, but they’re pretty sweet.
2. Jennifer at Book Club Girl, whom I would always read even if I didn’t just win a tote full of books from her.
3. Pam from Bookalicious who is both funny and insightful
4. J.C. aka the Biblio Brat, from the Biblio Blogozine, who put together the enormous list of banned and challenged books.
5. Jenners at Find Your Next Book Here, whose totally awesome Take a Chance Challenge I am going to get back to very soon.  Promise.

Just today I received another award, but I like to take a little while to decide who I give an award to, so look out for that soon!

Now!  About me!  For BBAW I’ve been nominated for Best General Review, Best New Blogger, and Most Eclectic.  I implore invite you to take a look through my posts, and tell me what your favorites are to help me decide which ones to submit!
