No More Hiding! Win Hidden Wives!

plrclr_colour-300dpi-copy-300x196There’s a good reason there are two people in this picture.  Both of them are Claire Avery, author of Hidden Wives.  They hide behind a pseudonym, but this sister team collaborated to write the book.

Sorry for trying to work “hide” into this post so much.  Sometimes I can’t help myself.

It’s a small price to pay for you to win Hidden Wives though!

Yes!  One of you, so long as you live in the U.S. or Canada, or have some way of having a U.S. or Canada address (’cause it’s coming from the publisher) can win this book!

To enter, answer this question: Most books are written by one individual.  Have you ever read a fiction book written by two people?  I’ll go first.  Yes, I have, but I’m always skeptical of it, and I don’t know why.  Most recently I read Brandon Sanderson’s book, the Gathering Storm, which is part of his finishing Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series (and if you read Hidden Wives, you might see why that’s an interesting connection!)

For extra entries:

sign up (or already be signed up for) the World Religion Challenge (+5)

Let’s have this go until… a week from Friday: July 23rd, 2010.  The contest will end at 11:59 PM PST.

Good luck everyone!  And if you want more info about the author(s) or book, check out their website.

Last year, I read a book called Murder on the Eiffel Tower: A Victor Legris Mystery by Claude Izner, which was actually written by two French sisters, Liliane Korb and Laurence Lefèvre. Both are booksellers on the Seine and they are experts on nineteenth-century Paris. It was a great book.

I don’t think I’ve ever read a book written by two authors – like you I’m usually skeptical of them. But, in this case, I’d like to give it a try!

No need to enter me, but I wanted to let you know that I find it fascinating that this book is written by two authors and not just one. That’s amazing. I don’t think I’ve read books written by two authors, but maybe they too are hiding behind a pseudonym! (LOL, I couldn’t help myself either…)

I’ll post your giveaway in my sidebar though.

My daughter is reading a book right now (Daniel X) that has two authors, one a really big name (James Patterson!) and the other more unknown. I don’t know how common that is but it seems like it would be difficult to collaborate on a blog post, let alone a whole book!!

No need to enter me, babe. I’m dropping in to say thanks for the e-mail. I’ve got this posted at Win a Book for you.

There was a book I read as a kid that had two authors, a woman and her son, and for the life of me I can’t remember what it was! I wish I could…I’d love to read this! :) The Peter and the Starcatchers series by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson is pretty good, too. :)

No, but there are mysteries written by two sisters under the name of O’Shaughnessy . . . can’t remember any titles right now. My sister read them.

Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child – Relic and Riptide. They’re not what I normally read, but my husband kept bugging me about them. Great books. =) (don’t tell him that he was right)

I know everyone else has already said this, but I’ve read Beautiful Creatures by Garcia & Stohl. I can’t think of any other team-written fiction right now that I’ve experienced.

I’ve read a lot of books and I know some of them have had two authors. I often wonder how they do it.

I have, but I can’t remember the name of the books or the authors, I always think it must be more of a challenge though collaborating a book based on two points of views and trying to blend them together, but its always interesting to see how they work that together. Although its interesting that this sister team only goes by one name! Thanks for entering me into this giveaway.

I may have read some and not been aware that they were written by two people. The only one I remember is Deck the Halls by Mary and Carole Higgins Clark.
