Give Away & Pictures of My Kitten
Here is our new kitten, Apollo. We got him from a shelter about a week and a half ago. He’s adjusting well to his new home, except for two things:
1. He likes to attack our feet in bed. We have solved this problem by not letting him in our room at night.
2. He likes to chew on my books. As I read them, or as they are lying there, it doesn’t matter to him.
I tell you this for two reasons:
1. Kittens are cute and I may well have enticed you to read this post or even come to my blog my promising pictures of kittens.
2. The book I’m giving away has some teeth marks. Nothing major, which is why I’m still giving it away…unlike the bookmark that was to go with this book, which is torn to shreds. You’ll just notice a few bumps here and there. Pretend that they are secret braille messages.
The book I’m giving away is Strange but True America: Weird Tales from All 50 States by John Hafnor and illustrated by David Crawford.
To be clear, this is an INTERNATIONAL give away. There is no need to be American to enter…just a curiosity about the U.S. and a thirst for knowledge…or at least a thirst for free stuff.
To win, leave me a comment telling me a strange but true tale from wherever you live. For example, Seattle, where I live, is of, course, home to Starbucks. The original Starbucks, which has been there for almost a century, has no place to sit. It is very small and cramped.

So adorable! I remember when my cat used to attack our feet. Luckily he’s grown out of it.

Can I just say that the city I live in used to not be an official city and the vote was approved the year my son was born? I don’t know if that quite counts.
I have a book with teeth marks on the jacket cover, right along the spine and several with the corners gone because the rabbit found them.

Great book and great question! Since Auburn, Al is a University town, the population is equal parts people and cats/dogs. We also have a Vet school, so we have Vet clinics every mile or so all over town. So, My Chihuahua’s will be happy to add their tooth marks to your cat claw marks. The year I graduated from here, Besse the cow was voted in as the Homecoming queen. (In the 70’s of course).

Strange but true…well, when I lived in NYC I had a friend who had the full-blown NY accent. She said hawt dawg, I said hot dog. She laughed every time I said it, because she said I was saying it wrong. They think THEY talk correctly.

Um, I totally admit I was enticed by pictures of kitties. My cat is old and while not fat is quickly on her way to getting to be. Ok, maybe that’s a lie.

Oh wow, what a cute little kitty. My dog used to bite our feet all the time when she was little. Good thing she was cute too! LOL

Your kitten is WAY adorable! My cat enjoys nibbling on books when she feels she isn’t getting enough attention. There are several books I wanted to donate or give away that I can’t because there are puncture marks all up and down the covers. I mean actual wholes she chewed into them. I think she secretly delights in sabotaging my book gifting plans.
