Give Away: The Dream Life of Balso Snell

512H46B047L._SL500_AA240_I picked up an extra copy of The Dream Life of Balso Snell by Nathanael West to give away.  Yay for you!

This is an international give away, and will go until December 6th 11:59 PM PST.  The winner will be announced the next day.

To enter, tell me, if you were going to write a book based on a myth, what myth would you choose?

Since this was something I read for the November Novella Challenge, I’m going to give anyone who’s participating in the NNC an extra 10 entries.  I did that recently with my Everything Austen mini challenge and give away, and it worked pretty well.

I have always been intrigued by the story of Icharus. It’s a great metaphor for the pitfalls of perceived success today.

Then again, my cat is named after Echo, so maybe I’d write a book about her! ;)

I like the Roman myths that have given rise to so many legends. I also like to think that romeo and juliet is a romantic myth and not just another sad love story.

I read your newsletter and do remember to click daily on your sidebars!!!

    Please count me in.

If I wrote a book, I would make it about the Greek gods. They were a fascinating group.

There are so manu myths that is hard to chose but I think that I would write about Orfeo and Euridice (I don’t know their English names. sorry!) their love story is so tragic!

I’d write about the Dryads in Greek mythology. The story would be set in nature, in the open fields.

I suppose I’d write a book about Daphne because that’s my daughter’s name. We chose her name partly because of the myth.

If I had to write about a myth, it would have to be about pixies.

Pixies are not used to being thanked, and they do your chores for you!
Imagine a world where humans could have pixies clean up your stuff for you or make them do the cooking! that’ll be nice.

I would also love to write about unicorns as well. I think they are such magical creatures.

okay, the above aren’t about myths but mostly mythological creatures.
