aor_coverGuess what?  I have an extra copy of The Army of the Republic by Stuart Archer Cohen to give to one lucky reader!

And since its coming from me, its an INTERNATIONAL give.

Part of what I liked about this book was that it took place in Seattle, where I live.  So, to enter, tell me a book that takes place where you live or have lived, or a place that you had previously visited.

I used to live near Oxford and many books are set there. But An Instance of the Fingerpost actually mentions the town where I lived.

Well, my favorite author is Anne Rice and many of her books are set in New Orleans…at least partially. In fact, The Witching Hour characters, the Mayfairs, live in the Garden District in New Orleans. Also, Lestat from The Vampire Chronicles has a house there as well. I visited New Orleans in 1999 and took a tour of the Garden District. I even took pictures of Anne Rice’s house (when she still lived there). I love New Orleans!

Heh. Mysteries of Pittsburgh, anyone? Actually, I’ve read a bunch of Pittsburgh-centric books. No rock and roll fiction set here yet, though. Maybe I ought to fix that…

No need to enter me, babe. I’m really dropping in to say thanks for the e-mail. I’ve got this posted at Win a Book for you.

I live near Tulsa and there aren’t many series that are set there. Currently, The House Of Night by P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast is the only one I know of. But Mercedes Lackey has featured Tulsa in several of her SERRAted Edge books & one of her Diana Tregarde books. Wheels of Fire (SERRAted Edge) is the only one that’s actually mentioned my town and the surrounding area.

    Thanks! :0)

I live in Sri Lanka, in the city of Colombo and all Sri Lankan authors seem to set their books in the vicinity of Colombo. Even those based elsewhere. Roma Tearne, Ashok Ferrey, V V Ganeshananthan, Romesh Gunasekera just to name a few.

    Thanks for this giveaway.

    What a great giveaway!

Deja Dead by Kathy Reichs takes place in Montreal where I lived for a while.

I grew up in Manhattan mostly, but lived for a time in Appleton, Wisconsin, with my grandparents. I loved Drowning Ruth because it perfectly evoked that part of the world, and Appleton gets a few mentions.

Thank you for the giveaway. I live in Seattle now, too!
