American Rust Give Away!

philippmeyer-210-PhilippauthorphSometimes life is one big eerie coincidence.  My friend’s husband is from Baltimore, and his last name is Meyer, and maybe it’s the bald head, but I swear, he looks just like Philipp Meyer, who is also from Baltimore.

8322_696456304030_20903916_40065669_6134302_nSee what I mean?

EERIE!

Look at not just the bald head, but the eyebrows, the nose.

Anyways, moving on.  Thanks to Spiegel & Grau, I am giving away a paperback of American Rust by Philipp Meyer.

This is open only to US/Canada address-holders, because it’s coming from the publisher.

The contest is open until 11:59 PM Sunday Feb. 21st (my b’day!).

To enter, tell me, since this has been popular on Facebook recently, who is your look-a-like, or who is somebody you know’s look-a-like.  Besides my friend here, I look like Cyndi Lauper, or so I’ve been repeatedly told.

Good luck!

I would love a chance to win! When I had shorter hair, I was always told I looked like Selma Blair. I also have a friend who looks so much like Jodie Foster that she gets asked for autographs.

You know that actress Linda Hunt, who is really small and won an Oscar for playing a man in “The Year of Living Dangerously”? That is who I look like. Or so I’ve been told.

I wish I looked like Hugh Jackman. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’m a celeb look-a-like. I can always dream, right?

Please enter my name in the contest too.

    Aloha from Rob

I have no idea who I look like…no one ever tells me I look like a celebrity!

No need to enter me, darling. I’m dropping in to say thanks for the e-mail. I’ve got this posted at Win a Book for you.

That is my husband featured above, and people always tells us that he looks just like the Duff Goldman on Ace of Cakes, who is also in Baltimore, and even more eerily, graduated from the same high school two years before my husband (though they never knew each other or were told they looked alike back then).

I have never been told I look like anyone in particular. I guess I must just be me!
This sounds like a good book. Thanks for the giveaway.

I have a non-famous look-a-like. We went to junior high together and her name was Chris. Teachers and other kids were always confusing us.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

I have been wanting to read this!

I’ve been told I look like Drew Barrymore.
But I’ve also been told I look like Rosie O’Donnell.

I think I deserve to win for admitting to the second one.

I really don’t look like anyone. Well, I mean I look like me, but I don’t look like anyone famous.

I would love to be entered in the give away.

I’ve been told by a few people that I look like Laura Linney and by one person: Renee Zellweger.

    Very interested in American Rust.

I don’t really keep track of celebrities, and I am bad with names… so when someone says to me this person looks just like they are often greeted with a blank look. However when I moved halfway across the country a few years ago, I swear I saw a few people who were dopelgangers (sp?) of my current friends… it was odd!
