War Through the Generations: WWII: More Cheating

warthrugen_button3I’ve heard about this challenge all around the blogosphere since I started blogging in the Spring.  However, as it was already like, halfway through the year I had decided not to join.  But then!  Then I found out it was O.K. to count books that I had already read this year, and when I realized that I am on my fourth book that would count, I was like, Hell yeah, then I only have to read on more!  Yay!  I’m in.

So here are my five books I  have read/will be reading for the War Through the Generations Challenge, which centers on WWII this year:

1. The Guernsey Literary and Potato-Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows

2. The Apple by Penelope Holt

3. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

4. Poland by James Michener (Only part of the book is about WWII, as it spans from the 13th century to the 1980’s, but I’m counting it).

5. The Street of a Thousand Blossoms by Gail Tsukiyama

Pretty nice list if I do say so myself.  It includes books about the Germans, the Jews, the Polish, the British, and the Japanese.  I guess there were just too many players in WWII to get them all in 5 books, but that’s O.K.

I’ve read over five books this year that touch on WWII though none (except for Guernsey) focus on it. Hmm … strange.

Nope, you’re definitely not cheating. In fact, we’re thrilled to have you join our challenge! The more people looking to share the books they’ve read that fit the challenge, the merrier!
