RIP Wrap-Up and Fairy Tale Week
I finished the RIP Challenge a day late–two days if you consider I didn’t actually post my final review until today.
But, complete it I did, and that’s what’s important, right?
I also detoured a bit from my original list of books, but I still read four perilous books:
Dismantled by Jennifer McMahon
Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk
Pride & Prejudice & Zombies Jane Austen and Seth Graham-Greene Turn of the Screw by Henry James
Deep Survival by Laurence Gonzales. A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess
I wouldn’t say that any of these books were especially scary, but they all had their own creep-factor.
A Clockwork Orange and Haunted were graphically violent, which was disturbing. Turn of the Screw might be a straight up ghost story, or it might be psychological, depending on how you interpret it. I go with the latter. Dismantled combined both paranormal and psychological elements in its plot, and you don’t know what is what until the final page.
So, nothing to give me nightmares, but plenty of peril for sure.
Now then, onward!
Today is the first day of Once Upon a Week…A Fairy Tale Extravaganza, hosted by NotNessie at Today’s Adventure.
Today I’ll be posting a review of a fairy tale-ish book, and also on Friday. The days in between will be filled with other fairy tale goodies.
::sprinkles fairy dust everywhere::

Congrats on completing the challenge! And enjoy a fairy-tale-filled week!
This is the second time I’ve seen The Return of The Screw listed; I must read that! Afterall, we named our dog Henry James.
I’m glad that you completed it AND wrote your post. I’ve only done the former so far, and it some point it’ll get too embarrassing to say, “Hey! I finished!” when the challenge ended a month ago.
Congrats on finishing the RIP challenge!
