Things I Am a Bit Remiss in Not Having Posted About Sooner

everythingausten1I just Tweeted the magnificent, persevering, beautiful, dedicated, knowledgeable, special, strong Stephanie of Stephanie Written Word, to say, that, well, I always MEANT to sign up for the second annual Everything Austen Challenge, so even though *technically* you were supposed to sign up by the 15th, let’s just say that I did already, ok?

That’s right folks, if you haven’t heard, Everything Austen is Back.  If you weren’t around last year, the idea is to read/watch six Jane Austen-y things between now and the end of the year.

I fully intend on the following:

Read Pride & Prejudice and Zombies
Read Bridget Jones: End of Reason
Watch The Jane Austen Book Club
Listen to Sense & Sensibility on CD
Watch Bride & Prejudice
Watch Famous Authors Series: Jane Austen

Are these necessarily the things that I will do for the challenge?  Well, I already have The Jane Austen Book Club And the Famous Authors Series: Jane Austen out from the library, so there’s that.

I have completed both the All About the Brontes challenge, as well as Carl’s Once Upon a Time Challenge.

For the Brontes, I read/watched:

Ophelia Joined the Group Maidens Who Don’t Float
The Eyre Affair
Lost in a Good Book
Jane Eyre (old b&w version)
Bronte Country

I didn’t blog about the last two.   I still feel that Jane Eyre should skip the whole bit about her growing up, and since when I blogged about the book a while back, That’s pretty much what I said about it, I didn’t think I had much more to add.  I watched Bronte Country a while back, and now I can’t really remember much details except that being a Bronte sucked because people kept dying.  Lost in a Good Book will get blogged about soon.

For Carl’s Once Upon a Time Challenge, I read:

Fables vol 3: Storybook Love
Fables vol 4: March of the Wooden Soldiers
Fables vol: 5: Mean Seasons
Fables vol. 6: Homelands
Fables 1001 Nights of Snowfall
American Gods
The Titan’s Curse
The Gathering Storm

I haven’t let that one gestate enough in my brain to write a review, even though it’s been about three months.  Review will come soonish, I promise.

bbaw-button2009Lastly, BBAW is sooner than you think.  The awards portion is way different this year, and I didn’t really feel like nominating myself, which is basically what you’re supposed to do this time around.  However, what I forgot was that in not doing that, now I can’t vote, so this is all to wish everyone else well, and say that I’m still just as excited for BBAW as ever.

And yes, I realize that my button there says 2009.  I am not that late for things, just too lazy to go get a new button.
