Last week, I posted Longfellow’s ode to Tegner, a Scandinavian poet from the 19th century. So that got me wondering who this Tegner guy is.
This is another poem from Tales Before Narnia (which will be reviewed soon, I promise!).
Dear God do not think that I am 43 years old. I certainly didn’t write it. Please don’t call me ma’am, either.
I doubt that I am introducing anyone to this poem. In fact, probably everyone who does FreeVerse has already used it (if there’s anyone left doing FreeVerse…Come back to us, Cara!)
I’ve been reading this book about stories that influenced C.S. Lewis, called Tales Before Narnia. It’s crazy overdue at the library, so I should be giving a proper review of it soon.
I’m watching this documentary on punk rock, and it makes me all nostalgic for…well, for my whole life. My oldest sister was into punk in the ’80’s and that’s where it started.
I almost didn’t go with this poem. God only knows what kind of spam I’ll get. But in the interest of bringing you good poetry, I went with it.
FreeVerse is a day late this week. Oops. But, Cara is still hiatusing, so there’s no linky anways. But it occured to me that I should still post a poem, and I chose one of my own.
Sorry there was no FreeVerse last week. I sort of just forgot. But in my defense, Cara, the FreeVerse hostess, has been haitusing again, and there was no FreeVerse linky.
You know how in Monty Python & the Holy Grail God is all don’t avert your eyes, I hate that, just like those psalms, they’re so depressing! Scroll down if you want a refresher.
